The story of Northview began in the early 1990s
In the early 1990s, Chick and Marilyn Stewart, along with Pat Duffey, partnered with golf legend Arnold Palmer to create the premier 36-hole public golf facility in British Columbia – Northview Golf and Country Club. Overcoming terrain challenges, they unveiled “The Ridge” and “The Canal” courses in 1994 and 1995. The classic west coast-designed clubhouse featured two restaurants and became a golf hub.
Arnold Palmer’s influence attracted the PGA, leading to the Ridge hosting the Greater Vancouver Open in 1996 – 1998 and 1999 – 2002 the Air Canada Championship. The Canal course, with its unique challenges, added to Northview’s appeal. The PGA Tour’s successful run marked Northview’s commitment to excellence, leaving a lasting legacy.
